Department of Zoology started the journey in the year of 1957 as Intermediate Biology course. In 1961, B.Sc. General course initiated. B. Sc. Honours course introduced in 1981. M.Sc. course began in 2017 and PhD also started in 2022. The department of Zoology equipped with various valuable and important instruments like Microscope, Spectroscope, Binocular, Centrifuge, Microtome, micrometer, Incubator, pH meter, Digital balance, Hot Air Oven, Refrigerator, Ecology Lab, Parasitology Lab, Entomology Lab, Dev bio-Lab, etc. For the sustainability of socio-economic development, the department has a definite role by generating graduate/postgraduate human resources those can enact on their belonging society by applying their knowledge like aquaculture, ornamental fish culture, sericulture, Integrated Pest management, Vermicompost, etc. the department also produces a huge number of talented brains those are now contributing their knowledge boosts to the scientific community both in India and abroad also they have taken responsibility to develop human resource development like us.
